Tournament History
Creating a legacy
The Swing for Kids Golf Tournament – formerly known as the Don Brennan Charity Golf Tournament – was first held in July 2000 to help celebrate Don’s 40th birthday. With the help of colleagues, friends, and others from the community, the tournament has raised over $350,000. for children’s charities.
The organizers of this year’s event are proud to be carrying on the same tradition, and are looking forward to helping the 2026 Swing for Kids Golf Tournament grow into an even bigger success than last year
Rogers House
The hockey world and countless others lost a beloved coach, friend and mentor on Saturday, June 21, 2003 as Ottawa Senators assistant coach Roger Neilson passed away after a long-term battle with two forms of cancer.
To honour the memory of Roger, the Ottawa Senators Foundation is accepting donations for Roger’s House. Roger’s House is located on the grounds of the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO), and provides pediatric palliative care with the objective of enhancing the comfort and quality of life for children and their families. The concept was met with great enthusiasm from Roger when presented with the idea. The foundation has worked closely with local health care agencies and organization to fulfill Roger’s legacy.
Adjacent to the hospital and administered by CHEO’s experienced and expert staff, the Ottawa Senators and CHEO have forged a partnership that will see services compliment each other for the benefit of children, youth and their families.
Roger’s House promotes the celebration of life and pediatric palliative care including respite care for children, youth, and families anchored in an innovative, family-centered holistic approach.
Roger’s House has been modeled after Canuck Place Children’s Hospice in Vancouver, which provides specialized pediatric care for children living with progressive life-limiting illnesses and their families in British Columbia.
